Join friends of the Council on At-Risk Youth (CARY) on Sunday, September 16th, for a comedy show at Esther’s Follies, 525 East 6th Street. Your donation will help CARY provide youth violence prevention programs in local middle schools.
Comedy for CARY begins with a reception at 4:30 p.m. in the lobby of Esther’s Follies and the Velveeta Room that includes a silent auction, cash bar and taste-tantalizing appetizers from local favorites Miles of Chocolate, Carmelo’s Italian Restaurant, Central Market, Siena Ristorante Toscana, P.F. Chang’s, Sweetish Hill Bakery, Mangia Pizza Austin and Ruby’s BBQ.
Esther’s Follies’ original comedy show begins at 6:00 p.m. with a welcome by Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo. Known as “Texas Premier Comedy Troupe,” Esther’s Follies will have you rolling in the aisles with original mind-boggling musical comedy, vaudeville, satire and magic.
A limited number of tickets are available for $50 each. You can become a sponsor with reserved seats or purchase a ticket online at www.councilonatriskyouth.org. Checks can also be mailed to: CARY, 3710 Cedar St., Box 23, Austin, TX 78705.

Since 1999 the Council on At-Risk Youth has helped youth promote safe schools and safe communities. CARY provides a 12-month program in six AISD middle schools for at-risk youth, teaching them social and cognitive skills to change aggressive behavior.
